Support RCDG Service for Sight Initiative
For all alumnae chapter events held in 2024-2025, attendees are requested to bring old readers, sunglasses and used prescription glasses and sunglasses to donate to the Raleigh Lions Club for their recycled eyewear program for visually impaired adults and children worldwide who can’t afford to purchase sight-enabling devices. DG alumnae join with NC State University's Eta Kappa chapter collegians at their chapter house, 2300 Greek Village Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606, All alumnae are welcome, especially those members with milestone anniversaries in 2025 (25, 50, 60 and 70 years since initiation.) Celebrating 151 years of the Do Good sisterhood.

Saturday, April 26, 2025 - Foundation Fighting Blindness Triangle VisionWalk.

Location: William Peace University Campus, 15 E. Peace St. Raleigh

Time:             9:30 a.m.  Registration Opens

                 10:30 a.m. Stage Presentation 

                 11:00 a.m. Walk Start

Put on your walking shoes to be part of Raleigh-Cary Delta Gamma alumnae chapter's VisionWalk team. VisionWalk is a family-friendly and fun event to raise research dollars for prevention, treatments and cures for blindness. The Foundation Fighting Blindness, founded in 1971, has raised over $891 million for retinal disease research through their signature VisionWalk events nationwide. The Triangle VisionWalk walking path is stroller and wheelchair accessible, and you can walk at your own pace for whatever length you wish to do.

Sunday, May 18 - Juniper Level Botanic Garden Tour

Location:  9241 Sauls Rd. Raleigh, NC 27603

Time:        10:30 a.m.

Cost:        $10 per person (no cost for 2024-2025 Golden Anchor dues paying members)

Join Delta Gamma area alumnae for a private, peak-season guided tour of the Juniper Level Botanic Garden, a 10-acre educational, research and display garden with more than 27,000 varieties of annuals, perennials, exotic plants, trees and shrubs. The Garden was founded in 1986 by Raleigh native Tony Avent and his wife Michele after they initially purchased a 2.2 acre abandoned tobacco field in the community of Juniper in south Wake County. The garden has grown to one of the largest ex-situ plant collections in the world.

Location:  North Carolina Museum of Art

                 2110 Blue Ridge Rd. Raleigh, NC 27607

Time:        10:00 a.m. Meet at the entrance to the West Building

Join your fellow Raleigh/Cary DG alumnae for our third tour of the North Carolina Museum of Art's exhibits created by women. This popular tour is led by a Delta Gamma alumna / NCMA docent who provides historical context, biographical information, and art-specific details for each exhibit. After the tour, we will dine together at the NCMA Cafe. Parking and the tour are free. Lunch is self-pay,

Saturday September 20, 2025:   RCDG Fall Kickoff Picnic

Location:  Fred Fletcher Park Covered Picnic Pavillion

                  820 Clay St. Raleigh, NC 27605

Time:         11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Begin RCDG's new fiscal year of fun/educational/philanthropic events with the chapter's annual picnic on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Note the new location at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh's Glenwood neighborhood. Food and drinks will be provided so come hungry! This is a perfect gathering for DG alumnae in the greater Raleigh area who may not have yet had a chance to attend an RCDG event.  More details and a link to RSVP coming shortly.

Past Events

Delta Gamma's Raleigh Cary Alumnae Chapter hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Events are often inclusive of family, friends and even pets. Past events include book club, cultural outings, holiday angel tree for Governor Morehead School for the Blind students, Brunchgiving, Founder's Day with Eta Kappa at NC State, meeting up for coffee or dinners in the Raleigh area, and service for sight initiatives.
